Like this dog in the photo Keebler our Chiwawa has adopted all kinds of strays to care for, make milk for, clean and pamper, or just keep company while they adjust to new surroundings.

She has been a mother to 2 of her own litters, and has been a seragot mom to 4 litters of kittens.

2005: Mama1st litter of 4 was 3 days old and their mom was hit by a car. The Mom cat was badly damaged but lived through her injuries but could not care for her kittens. Keebler heard them crying and made me take them in.They were on formula until Keebler started to produced milk for them. They became part of the family. The 2 girls are spayed.

2005: Mama 2nd litter of 5 were raised under a wood pile. The feral mom was teaching the to spit and bite so we took them and gave them to Keebler who was making milk for them already. She raised them to be sweet playful adoptable kittens. They are all adopted. We had three girls spayed.

2006: Mama 3rd litter of 6 were raised under a plastic box outside by a feral cat. We took 4 when the mom was attacked by a Raccoon, Keebler opened her arms and heart to them and kept them safe and warm...they did not need milk.Keebler socialized them by teaching them not to fear others.

When we came back for the last two they were gone. We finally trapped them 2 weeks later. They already were nasty and spitting and biting. Of course they are taught this for protection from preditors. They are sharing space with their sisters but are not becoming nice. They do not play like the others, they hide and spit when others come near. (update: these nasty kittens became nice enough to give for adoption and are happy & healthy).

Litter of 3....I would give them to keebler to deal with but me and her have our hands full (litterally) with three infants that we found abandoned by a young 1st time mom cat that had these kits in a bad spot.Unsheltered during a rainstorm, in a muddy puddle. Keebler heard their cries and made me look for them. update: the black & white kittens that came from the young mom that lives near Otto are adorable...they were a lot of work but one has a good home already.

Update 3/12/07 One of the black & white kittens has scoliosis...it's wobbily and small...but adorable...

May 07  Scolio just went to get spayed and she had a lot of cysts on her ovaries. She is recouping with her brother Phantom  who got neutered.

Oreos daughter/ Black angora "Showoff" Feral Dad.... "choc. chip" has been adopted by Marie....her named is changed to "Misty". She could not be spayed until she gets over her Small upper respiratory infection....3 more weeks

2007: All stray females have been fixed, All kittens have homes, most males fixed,  35 cats in total have been removed from neighborhood through our group.
